Track and Field News

All track athletes have received their events, letter and form.  They are to bring their form and fee ($10) back to the PE office ASAP.  All athletes must have a CNG shirt for track day to help us identify them during competition.  They are welcome to wear one they already own, or can purchase a track team tshirt from the PE office for $10.

All track athletes should be doing daily work on their “ABCs” and stretching.  These activities can be done in your home or outside, but will continue to build that strong muscle memory.  Last week they worked on a knee drive drill at training that is imperative to our sprint team.  Please complete a few sets each day.  It’s hard to get out and train right now, so these simple and basic movements will ensure our bodies are strong and ready to compete.

Shot Put team:  Please review the video.  Practicing your toe glide at home will make the movement more familiar to you, as that you can focus on your actual throw during practice.  Remember to think about sitting down low in your load, kicking hard with your non-dominant and turning hips first.

Green Shirt Day 2019- Monday April 8th

Logan Boulet was in his third season as a defenseman with the Humboldt Broncos when he died following a horrific collision on April 6, 2018. Just weeks prior to the crash, Logan told his parents of his desire to donate his organs. Boulet’s gift helped save six lives and inspired an estimated 100,000 Canadians to register their intent to donate their organs. April 7 is Green Shirt Day for Organ Donor Awareness & Registration, presented by Canada’s Organ & Tissue Donation Community in partnership with Global News.  Students of CNG are encouraged to wear green on MONDAY APRIL 8th to show their support in keeping “Logan Boulet effect” alive and inspire more Canadians to become organ donors.
